32 weeks!!!

Well I was 32 weeks last wednesday and the bump is getting bigger and bigger and harder to carry about....I love being pregnant but these last few weeks are tough...back pain.. pelvic pain... heart burn....swollen feet...carpel tunnel syndrome....the list goes on!! Anyway I was at the doctor last week when I was 31 weeks and she told me that I was measuring at 35 weeks gestation!! So either my dates were wrong, I have lots of fluid or I was having a big baby and she sent me to the maternity hospital for a scan!

The scan showed that I am in fact having a big baby....which doesn't surprise me considering my sisters Brenda and Jackie had babies weighing nearly 10lbs!!!! so they are keeping an eye on me and will plot the baby's growth again in 4 weeks....ohhh the joys!!

Rosie and Lilly Owens

On the 3/11/11 Davey and Sam welcomed their two beautiful little daughters into the world, Rosie and Lilly Owens...huge congratulations to them both!! Being new to blogging we are a bit late posting this so apologies Davey and Sam!!! They are gorgeous little girls and Davey and Sam are both obviously thrilled with their arrival. Clive and I spent the first night with them when they came home from The Coombe to offer some support but they didn't need much, they are both naturals getting right into the parenting role!!

Bank Holiday Weekend

Ok, so the post is a week late since this is my 1st post I guess thats ok :) The bank holiday weekend went really well. For the most part, it was really really relaxing. On Saturday, Eilish & Eddie came to visit us. We watched some football, X factor, had some dinner, relaxed with a few drinks, it was a very enjoyable evening.

On Sunday, Brenda & Tommy hosted dinner for Stella & Tommy, Wayne & Anita, Tracey & I and of course all the kids too. Thank you Brenda & Tommy, we really had an enjoyable evening.

On Monday (Halloween) Wayne & Anita hosted a very enjoyable evening with fireworks, loads off nice food for the kids and also some very delicious food for the adults, we really enjoyed the evening.

28 weeks!!!

22 weeks.....

27 weeks 

Well we are now approaching 28 weeks! Which marks the end of the second trimester! I've been feeling remarkably well and have had no sickness or major complaints!! In fact, many people have been telling me how 'radiant' i look, so thats aleays nice to hear!! I having plenty of movement and kicks, which is really lovely! The baby is responding to our voices - and Clive's guitar playing! He plays nursery rhymes to my tummy and the baby reacts with a few kicks!! Hopefully he/she will recognise them when it's time for sleep in January!!

1st scan tomorrow

We went to the The regional hospital, Portlaoise for our first scan...it was such an exciting day for both of us!!! We were so happy, giddy and couldn't wait to see our little baba on the screen!! We also went armed with the question 'is there only one in there?' well there is only one and what a giddy little goat he/she was!!! Arms and legs flying about!!! It was amazing and we were just so thrilled to finally see him/her for real!!

Annual Portugal holiday

I came back from my annual holiday with my sisters to Pine Cliffs Sheraton holiday resort yesterday. As always we had a fantastic time..although we were missing half of our group..Mammy couldn't come as she was too busy cruising around the med with daddy and Caroline was preparing to move to the USA..so it was myself, Brenda and Jackie...we had a great time regardless. The resort is spectacular...

Our vegetable garden

The vegetable garden has been coming on nicely since it was created in April of this year. We both love being outside and having quite a large garden makes that very easy for us. Clive built 4 raised beds made from scaffolding boards, I helped a little!! but he did the majority of the work with a little help from Kevin's carpentry tools. So over a couple of weekends and sunny summer evenings the raised beds were ready. We had them filled with manure from a local farmer and topsoil from a local quarry. We planted carrots, parsnips and scallions from seed. Cabbage, cauliflower, turnips and lettuce from baby plants. They are growing nicely! And we hope to harvest soon!!

Kings of Leon in Slane Castle, Co. Meath 28th of May 2011

We travelled to beautiful Slane Castle in Co. Meath to the long awaited Kings of Leon gig which we were waiting for all year as we are both huge KOL fans!! Davey and Sam, who are novices to the whole music/concert scene met us there and really enjoyed it too. We travelled with our long time friends and avid music fans Maire & Mark, Mary & Fergal, fergals sisters and John & Megan...

Karen Mulgrew and her boyfriend John also met us there. The gig was excellent and KOL played a blinder, they played alot of there songs from their new album - Come around sundown. Thin lizzy and Elbow supported the band and they were fantastic also... We had a fantastic day and were shattered at the end of it...

Bealtaine na Cheile camping weekend

On the May bank holiday weekend last we camped for three nights in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Sligo with 22 others at the Bealtaine na Cheile weekend. It was an alcohol free drumming weekend with a mix of meditation, chanting and community living. It was a fantastic experience and we enjoyed it very much!! A few pictures here show what it was like.....I had just found out that I was pregnant, so what a fabulous way to start my pregnancy with a relaxing weekend full of meditation, chant and a general feel good atmosphere!!

First day of our new blog site

Today is the first day of myself and Clive's new blog site. Well I will probably be doing most of the posting. We started this site so we can document the new and exciting challenges that lay ahead of us, namely the lead up to the birth of our 1st child, as I am now 8 weeks pregnant and very excited! It will also be a great way for my brother and sisters abroad to keep up to date with what's happening here with us and our new bundle!!!
